Ouch!

Well I went into the dermatoligist's office on Tuesday to have the skin around the cancer growth removed. It took about 45 min and I had a local anesthetic to numb the area, so I was awake and all but I didn't feel any pain. She took a pretty good chunk out... it was in the shape of a diamond but about the size of a quarter. She removed every layer of skin, all the way to the fat. Then she stitched the skin together so it's really tight. I can't use my left arm (because it's on my shoulder-blade) much at all. I can't lift anything or push anything for 2 weeks! I've already pushed myself a little too far, I can tell because when I reach out, it really hurts! It itches and stings a lot but I'm hoping that will stop soon. I'll have the stitches removed in about two weeks, after we return from Utah. So I just wanted to update and let you all know that I had it taken care of and I should be "normal" again soon!

I'm sorry you're in pain, but I'm glad that they were able to take care of it. What a scary experience!

Wow I had no idea, sorry you had to go through that! My dad has basal cell carcinoma and has to go in every few months for removals. I hope yours is not ongoing!
