Ashlyn and Gabe had a riot playing Dance Dance Revolution last night on the Wii. They get so into it. We had some little friends over and they all had a great time trying to keep up with the dance steps. Just wanted to share the pics so you can see how serious they were about it.

I don't know how interesting they will be to you but here ya go:

1. I never go to they gym without my morning coffee. Yes that's right, I drink my coffee while I work out. I drink the water after I'm done working out.

2. I am obsessed with Victoria's Secret PINK. I have like 2 pairs of jeans that I wear occasionally. Everything else is sweats or lounge clothes by PINK.

3. I listen to Eminem. Of course not in front of my kids. Rap isn't really part of the genre of music I listen to, but there is something about his music that is catchy to me and I actually like it. Strange, I know.

4. I cry at kid's movies. I don't know if it's because the happy endings are so sappy or if it's just my reaction to the way my kids connect with the story, but happens nearly every time.

5. I don't care for chocolate. I don't know why but it just doesn't top my list. I'll always take white cake over chocolate and I'd probably be the happiest girl in the world if I could get my Junior Mints chocolate-free. Probably wouldn't feel so guilty when I eat them either!

6. I've always loved Disney-anything. When my girlfriends and I were in middle school we all had nicknames and they were Disney Princesses. Mine was Belle. Of course we had Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc. I still have notes from those days in which we addressed and signed using those names.

7. I hate scary movies. I won't watch them. The last one I saw was The Grudge and it was horrible. My friends loved it and I hated it. I wanted my money back so bad... and my hour and a half.

Monster Trucks, Oh My!!!

As many of you already know, Gabriel is very much into cars, trucks, trains... basically anything with wheels or wings. When we heard the Monster Truck Jam was coming through San Diego, we just knew that Gabe had to go! I had a scrapbook day planned with girlfriends so Brian took the kids this past Saturday. They had a great time! Even Ashlyn enjoyed it. Uncle Dan and Auntie Christine joined in on the excitement too.

Twilight

I am loving this series of books! I am not much of a reader but for some reason, I couldn't put Twilight down. I finished it in 4 days. I hurried to the library to see if I could find the second book, but no luck. It's on hold or checked out at every library in San Diego. I took Gabe to Target last night to pick up a few essentials and thought to check out their book section. They had it! I was so excited. I quickly grabbed it and threw it into the cart. I started reading it as soon as I put Gabe to bed and got through a little over 100 pages last night.
I'm so glad that Marilyn (SIL) sent me the first book for Christmas. She also informed me that there is a movie being made. I just hope they do the book justice.

Gabe's Portraits

So it has long been time for me to have Gabriel's pictures taken and I have been putting it off. I usually go to Kiddie Kandids and end up spending somewhere around $130. So I decided to attempt to take them myself and have them printed. I haven't picked up the prints yet... just took the pics this morning. I used our front yard as a backdrop. It's so well landscaped, I figured why not? Here are some of the pics. Of course there are lots of cute little candid shots I got because he was cheesing it up for the camera!

Sunday Hike

We haven't been able to do many family hikes on unpaved trails, since Gabe has always been too small to walk on his own and we needed the stroller. So this Sunday, we went for a "test hike" at Cowles Mtn. It was 1.5 miles up and then of course back down. Ashlyn did great, didn't complain until we were almost to the top and it started to get hot out. Gabe made it about a quarter of the way and then Brian carried him off and on. It was a great day out though.

Wine Tasting in Temecula

So last weekend we went wine tasting with our good friends, Cassandra & Tony. We had a great time! I didn't think I really even liked wine but I soon found out that I really do!! There are so many different types and it was really cool to be able to sample something I haven't tried before. We visited 5 wineries that day. Honestly, I had no idea there were so many so nearby. There must have been 20 of them in just a 5 mile radius! We had a lot of laughs and a great lunch. Of course after a couple of tastings, we started to get a little silly!

Jen's First Blog!

Okay so we'll see if this even works!! Since most of my girlfriends from "the good old days" seem to be blogging, I thought why not give it a shot? Like I'm not on the computer enough as it is!! I've really enjoyed getting to see what my friends are up to and seeing the pictures of their little ones as they grow up SO fast. So here is MY blog, I hope I can keep up with it!
