It goes by so fast, no matter what I am doing! Even if I'm doing nothing, I don't get very long to do it in!
Last weekend (the long one, the one with the holiday) my cousin, Katie and her family drove down from Orange County to pay us a visit. I've never had any of my CA family over to our home since we moved to CA 3.5 years ago. Not because I didn't want them to come over, just because the opportunity hadn't come up. Being a mom is a very different life from not being a mom and a lot of the time, I find it hard to connect with other women who aren't moms. I'm not trying to be elite or anything like that, it just seems that other moms understand why I am so busy, even though I don't have a 9 to 5.
Way off topic but anyway, Katie is a mom and since she became a mother 2 years ago, we have really found a lot in common (yes, even other than just being mommies) and I try to talk to her and get together with her more often. She's a genuine person and so is her husband. We get along very well as do our kids, despite the years between them. She just had her second baby and it was so fun to hold that warm, cuddly sleepy bundle. I don't want any more children but I do wish that stage would have lasted a bit longer with my own kids. I will post some pics of our visit once I get them from her.
I've been working hard on getting this house put together. In all honesty, I think when you own a home, it's never really done. But I'm getting closer. I got the entire loft painted and I'm so happy with the way it turned out. It might actually be the first room to be totally put together. That's my problem. I flutter. I don't focus on one room, I do something here then something there. I just have to get some wall art up and a new futon cover and that room's good to go! We went shopping for a new sectional for our living room and bought what we thought was a great leather set. Well, I'm not really sure that the leather is even leather at all! The quality was just horrible. So, after sending 3 sets of furniture back to the store, we went in yesterday and picked out a completely different couch set. Unfortunately, we're stuck with the old stuff a bit longer as we had to special order the new set to get it in the fabric and color we wanted. So the living room will take just a bit longer to get together.
I have also taken on a little project with Elena Etcheverry of Scrapbook Royalty (SBR). SBR is a charitable organization that raises money for different charities (Cancer Coping Center, Boys & Girls Club, Autism Speaks, to name a few) and they hold scrapbooking events in order to raise the money. I've participated in a couple of events and these things are crazy awesome! So I am now keeping the raffle/auction blog updated. You can check it out here: http://sbrauctions.blogspot.com/. Anyone can buy the raffle tickets, no matter where you live. You just have to arrange pick up or pay for the shipping on your prize if you win. And (those sweet, sweet words) your donations are tax deductible!
So that's pretty much what I've been busy with... more later... and pics too!

Tagged... now you're it!
So Tiffany tagged me and in this tag game, you are supposed to post the 4th picture in the 4th album on your computer (or the 4th pic you have downloaded if you don't have albums). So here's my 4th pic from my 4th folder. Mind you my folders aren't in great order and many of them have been moved off my computer and onto another hard drive.

Where I've Been
In Utah!! We had a great time celebrating with my mom for her 50th birthday this past weekend. We were trying to surprise her with our visit, but it just didn't work out. JetBlue had us delayed for 2 1/2 hours. Gabe really enjoyed flying though. We got to fly with Jared, we saw Hotel for Dogs, ate lots of good food and visited with Danielle and Anthony.
Mom and I saw Revolutionary Road... the movie was done well but it was kind of depressing.
